The 2018 NEIBA Hall of Fame induction and banquet will be at 5 p.m. on May 20 at Classic Cafe Catering and Event Center, 4832 Hillegas Rd. 46818.
Former Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher and Fort Wayne TinCaps pitching coach, Burt Hooton will serve as keynote speaker. Art Saltsberg will emcee.

2018 HOF Inductees
- Randy Lewandowski: Bishop Dwenger graduate and Indianapolis Indians President/GM, who is in his 24th season with the Pittsburgh Pirates farm team
- Lee DeTurk: World Baseball Academy (WBA) Board President
- Jim Shovlin: Fort Wayne Men’s Senior Baseball League player and Talkin’ Sports radio host.
2018 Awards Honorees
Longtime Fort Wayne TinCaps, broadcaster Mike Maahs will receive the Bob Parker Award for promoting the game, and former Stan Musial League player/coach Stan Zanetti will receive the Colin Lister Award for exemplifying a profound and distinguished dedication to the game.
About Burt Hooton
Burt Hooton is starting his sixth season as the TinCaps pitching coach. He spent 15 years in the majors, primarily with the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers, throwing a no-hitter in his fourth game and winning 151 Major League games. He was the National League Championship Series MVP en route to the Dodgers’ 1981 World Championship. He has also worked as a pitching coach nine years with the Dodgers and 13 years with the Astros before joining the San Diego Padres, the TinCaps’ Major League Baseball parent team.
