UPDATE: April 25, 2015 – Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ned Garver will be unable to attend this year’s HOF Banquet and will therefore not be the Keynote Speaker. <\/b>Dave Switzer has generously offered to ussume the role. Switzer is a retired 43-year career umpire, having worked games at all levels including local, state, national, international and professional baseball games. He is also a retired college professor and a 2012 NEIBA HOF inductee. Switzer had been tapped to serve as Emcee for the event. In his place, Bill Derbyshire, President of the Wildcat Baseball League, will serve as emcee.<\/span><\/p>\n

Former St. Louis Browns, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Athletics and Los Angeles Angels Pitcher, Ned Garver<\/strong> will be the keynote speaker for the 2015 Northeast Indiana Baseball Association (NEIBA) Hall of Fame Awards Banquet, taking place on Saturday, May 2, 2015 beginning at 6:30 PM at the Classic Cafe’ Catering and Event Center. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Those being inducted in this year’s class are Andy Owen<\/strong> (High School Baseball Coach), Leo Ochoa<\/strong> (Fort Wayne Federation Baseball League Coach & Team Sponsor), and Harold Greiner<\/strong> (former manager of the Fort Wayne Dasies), the latter being inducted posthumously.<\/p>\n

Those being honored with annual awards are Joe Moorhouse<\/strong> (NEIBA Hall of Famer Vice President) with the Colin Lister Award, and Caleb Kimmel<\/strong> (CEO of the World Baseball Academy) with the Bob Parker Memorial Award. Retired baseball umpire and college professor, Dave Switzer<\/strong> will serve as the MC for this year’s gala.<\/p>\n
